Gaelcholáiste Chiarraí cooking up a storm at big fundraiser

The Kerryman (North Kerry) - - NEWS -

GAELCHOLÁISTE Chiarraí had two reasons to celebrate at a big fundraising night in The Meadowlands Hotel in Tralee on Thursday – apart from the Christmas season, the school also showcased its plans for its new school building on a great night that enjoyed widespread support.

Organised by the Parents’ Council of the school, the event had at its core a cookery demonstration by chef Frank Moynihan, who delivered no end of key tips on the often tricky subject of festive cooking. Given the time of year, they were hanging on Frank’s every word and movement in the interest of cooking up an even greater Christmas smorgasbord than usual.

As ever it was the students of the Gaelcholáiste who stole the show – not least the talented musicians who opened the event, including harpist Eve Ní Chríodáin, pictured below right. Plans for the new school drew great interest, which the Parents’ Council said it is very much looking forward to seeing open in September 2020.
