CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL

The Ballyduff Christmas Festival takes place on Sunday 16th December from 2.00pm 6.00pm in the Square Ballyduff. Come and soak up the atmosphere, meet Santa and do some Christmas shopping in our pop up village. New stalls added this year.

BALLYDUFF IN BLOOM/ TIDY TOWNS

Please come and visit our stall during the Ballyduff Christmas Festival which will be held in the square on Sunday the 16th at 2.00pm. We will be selling our famous non alcoholic mull wine, teas, coffees and hot chocolate. There will be stalls selling a variety of goods and more importantl­y Santa will be in attendance.

BOTTLE BANK

Kerry County Council have installed a Bottle Bank at Ballyduff GAA Grounds. This is a wonderful facility and will be very convenient to everyone who will use it properly. We trust that people will keep the area clean and it is hoped there will be no indiscrimi­nate dumping there. CCTV cameras will be installed there shortly. Opening times 10.00am to 5.00pm winter time 9.00am to 9.00pm summer time.

ATHLETICS

Alex O’Carroll from Ballyduff, competing for St Brendan’s AC had an excellent run on Saturday in the Listowel parkrun. He ran a new Personal Best of 21-29 in a large field of runners. In Tralee, there were 10 St Brendan’s athletes in action on Saturday with Pádraig O’Regan and Gerald Carroll leading the club home with times of 20-16 and 20-38 respective­ly. A big group of the club’s young athletes turned up on Sunday in Tralee for the 2nd birthday of the junior parkrun and again great performanc­es were recorded.

Training for juveniles continues on Wednesday evenings from 6.30pm to 8.00pm for U8 to U11 in Ardfert Community Centre. Training for U12s upwards is on Wednesdays also but in Ardfert sportsfiel­d from 6.45pm to 7.45pm.

The Annual General Meeting of Ballyduff Coiste Na nÓg will be held in the Ballyduff GAA Club Rooms on Wednesday December 12th at 8.00pm. We are looking for extra coaches and help so if there are people available can you please let them know. Thanks.

Just to let people know that were up and running again this year with the Ballyduff text alert and taking in new members as well and to remind people the forms are in the Ballyduff Post Office. Just fill them in and leave them there. Just €10 to join up as a member for the year so our dead line will finish up in a few weeks time. Our numbers have gone up every year so spread the word to keep Ballyduff and the surroundin­g areas free from criminals.
