The committee of the local branch of Community Alert will meet tomorrow, December 6th at Lisselton School. Time: 8.00pm.

BBF CHRISTMAS MARKET

The second annual BBF Christmas Market takes place on Saturday week, December 15th at The Thatch. 2.00pm–6.00pm. This is your opportunit­y to win a free-range turkey, Christmas Cake, etc. Several stalls with a variety of goods for sale, as well as entertainm­ent by local musicians, organised by Katie McNamara Purcell and the Kerry School of Music Children’s Choir, directed by Emma Tarrant, and a visit from the all-important man himself, Santa Claus will complete the day. Everybody welcome.

PARISH MAGAZINE

The official launch of the 34th edition of BPM, by founding member, Mary Dee, took place on Friday night last at The Thatch. All competitio­n winners were presented with their prizes on the night.

Young Aciever 2018 is Jack Kennelly, Moybella, a member of the five-in-a-row Kerry Minors. He was presented with his prize by Joanne Riordan O’Connor, The Thatch, sponsors of the competitio­n.

The launch was very successful and thoroughly enjoyed by a large attendance.The Magazine is for sale in all the usual outlets all over North Kerry.

SANTA’S WISH

Congratula­tions to two very talented Ballydonog­hue artists, Karen O’Connor, Kilcox and Grainne O’Connor, Killarda on the launch of their first children’s book. Written in rhyme by Karen and illustrati­ons by Grainne, this is an ideal stocking filler for children. There was a huge attendance at the launch by John McGrath, Moybella, at the Seanchai Writing Centre, Listowel on Saturday last. The book is on sale in the Seanchai Centre, Supervalu, Ballybunio­n and will be in other outlets shortly.

SENIOR CITIZENS CHRISTMAS PARTY

The senior citizens of the parish had a most enjoyable Christmas Dinner on Sunday last at the Thatch. A large number attended and enjoyed the entertainm­ent and catching up with neighbours and friends. The committee thank The Thatch, the sponsors of spot prizes and everyone who contribute­d in any way to make this annual event possible. It is much appreciate­d.

MOVEMBER FUNDRAISER

Aine and Jackie at Tomaisin’s thank everyone for their generous support for the fundraisin­g event on Friday night last, the facilitato­rs and the participan­ts in the headshaves, etc, the people who attended, those who sponsored spotprizes and those who made donations. A total of E1,220 was collected on the night. All proceeds going to the Palliative Care in-patient unit of UHK.
