SENIOR CITIZENS PARTY

The annual senior citizens Christmas party is taking place this Sunday 9th December in the Kilmoyley Community Care Centre. Celebratio­ns will commence with Mass at 1pm, followed by Christmas dinner, ceol agus craic. We look forward to hosting and meeting you all.

GREEN SCHOOLS

The pupils in Kilmoyley National School have elected a new Green Schools Committee. Chairperso­n, Kate Maunsell, Secretary, Clodagh Regan, P.R.O, Maeve Horan. This will be the team helping the school achieve its seventh Green School Flag-Global Citizenshi­p Energy.

KILMOYLEY ATHLETIC FC

It was another good day out for the team as they continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 3-0 win over Classic FC C at Mounthawk park on Sunday. Goals by Daniel Collins, James Godley and Joe McElligott sent Athletic on their way.

The team has no game coming weekend.

ST BRENDAN’S AC

The club had a number of athletes involved in parkruns last weekend. In Listowel, Alex O’Carroll from Ballyduff had an excellent run on Saturday in a pb of 21-29. In Tralee, there were 10 St Brendan’s athletes in action on Saturday with Pádraig O’Regan and Gerald Carroll leading the club home with times of 20-16 and 20-38 respective­ly. There were 18 of the club’s young athletes in action on Sunday in Tralee for the 2nd birthday of the junior parkrun and again great performanc­es were recorded. Jessica Leen was presented with her wristband for completing 21 junior parkruns. Meanwhile, the Walsh family of Zach, Ruairi and Conor participat­ed in the Shelbourne junior parkrun in Limerick and Zach was the first finisher. Training for juveniles continues on Wednesday evenings from 6.30pm to 8pm for U8 to U11 in Ardfert Community Centre. Training for U12s upwards is on Wednesdays also but in Ardfert sportsfiel­d from 6.45 to 7.45pm.

JUVENILE HURLING CLUB

The U12 team were presented with their medals as joint winners of phase 1 of the County Hurling League on Friday evening in the club rooms. Many thanks to Ian Brick, U21B All Ireland hurling winning manager and to Maurice O’Connor and Kieran Regan who met the team and presented them with their medals. An appearance by the Richie McElligott cup made it even more special. Congratula­tions and well done to all the players and mentors.
