in There was no jackpot winner last weeks Mountcollins AFC lotto where the numbers drawn were 4, 13, 15 and 16. Lucky dip prizes went to Shane Sheehan, Mountcollins, Miney McCarthy, Mountcollins, Sarah Keogh, Rockchapel, Tara and Diarmuid McCarthy, Mountcollins and Milah McCarthy, Athea. The winner of the promoters prize was Liam Lane. This weeks jackpot will be €7,300.
CARD GAME
The prize money at last weeks card game was divided between the teams of Nora Lyons, Anita Danaher and Ann Cahill and John O Connell, Den Lane and Florence O Connell. The winners of the table prize were Dan Brosnan, John Lyons and Peter O Mahony. The winner of the door prize was peter O Mahony with raffle prizes going to Larry McAuliffe, Marian Roche, Noel Murphy, Dan Brosnan and Eamon Sheehan. Cards as usual this Thursday night at 9pm and all are welcome.
SCHOOL FUNDRAISER
Mountcollins National School Parents Association will hold a fund raising tea and coffee evening on this Friday evening, December 7th from 7pm to 9pm in the Community Centre. A raffle for a hamper and Christmas cake will be held during the evening with proceeds going towards school activities for the benefit of the children. The organisers would appreciate your support.
RECENT DEATH
Sympathy is extended to the family of the late Denis O Donnell. Lucan, Dublin and the Snug Bar, Dorset, Dublin and formerly of Caherhayse who passed away during the past week. In his younger days, Denis played football with Mountcollins and a number of years ago was a sponsor of our local club in providing the Junior team with a set of jerseys. May he Rest in Peace.
GAA LOTTO
The numbers drawn in last weeks Mountcollins/Tournafulla GAA clubs lotto were, 1, 11, 20 and 30. There was no winner of the jackpot. The winners of the lucky dips were, Noel Larkin, Tournafulla, Michael Daughton, Dublin, William Curtin, Brosna and Patsy Horgan, Cratloe, Co. Clare. The winners of the promoters prize was Seamus O Sullivan. Next weeks jackpot will be €4,000.
LOCAL WEDDING
Congratulations to Bernard McCarthy and Ivanna Keane who were married in the Church of the Assumption, Mountcollins on Friday last. The newly weds were joined by family and friends to celebrate the occasion at their wedding reception in Kenmare. A long time member of our local GAA club we wish Bernard and Ivanna many years of happiness in their married life.
BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS
A large gathering of family and friends were in attendance at Tommy Micks Bar, Mountcollins on Saturday night to celebrate the 60th birthday of our local post-woman, Nora O Connor. A great night of music, song and dance was enjoyed by all. Happy Birthday Nora.
