1. TAKE PART IN TRALEE 5KM SANTA FUN RUN

ONE of Tralee’s best loved festive events returns later this month as the Tralee Santa 5k fun run takes place on Sunday December 16 from the Tralee Bay Wetlands.

The run will start at 11am with tickets for adults set to cost €10 while anyone Under 12 will cost just €5.

2. MOUNTHAWK SET TO PERFORM AT SIAMSA

GAELSCOIL Mhic Easmainn will hold their annual Christmas fair on Sunday December 9 in the school hall.

It is an extra special year for the school this year as they celebrate 40 years in all-Irish primary education.

Everyone is welcome to come and attend on the day; there will be plenty of stalls and an auction, with all funds from the day going towards helping the school.

The fair will run from 2pm to 4pm and there is a fee of €5 per family to enter.

3. COFFEE MORNING FOR ABBEYFEALE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS

A CHARITY coffee morning in support of the Abbeyfeale Christmas lights will be held at Leen’s Hotel in Abbeyfeale this coming Friday December 7 at 10:30am.

The morning is being organised by the Abbeyfeale ARA Group and everyone is welcome to attend on the morning.

4. CHRISTMAS CONCERT IN KILLARNEY CHURCH

KILLARNEY singer Mary Culloty O’Sullivan will present a ‘Christmas Melodies’ concert at the community hall, Church of the Resurrecti­on in Killarney on the night of Friday December 14 at 7:30pm.

It will be an evening of Traditiona­l Christmas carols, poetry, Irish ballads and love songs; this is a free admission concert.

5. GRACE FOLEY LAUNCHING NEW ALBUM AT INEC

KILLARNEY native Grace Foley will launch her brand new album ‘Unleashed’ at the INEC Acoustic Club on Sunday December 9 at 8pm.

This will be Grace’s second album and will feature songs by Lana Del Rey, Gary Jules and Simon and Garfunkel.

There will be music support on the night from Tom Lucey and Liam O’Connor; the album will only be on sale on the night - don’t miss out,

6. HERMITAGE GREEN IN THE INEC ACOUSTIC CLUB

THE brilliant Hermitage Green return to the INEC Acoustic Club next month for what promises to be another intimate and memorable performanc­e.

December 7 is the date to mark in your calendars and if last years show is anything to go by, this is not a show to be missed.

Tickets are on sale now from the INEC website and will cost just €20.

7. FESTIVE FUN TABLE QUIZ IN BARRADUFF

THE Barraduff Festive Fun quiz will take place on the night of Thursday December 28 at 8pm in John Dan’s Bar.

There will be prizes on the evening for best Christmas jumper/attire while there will also be lots of spot prizes and fun on the night.

8. DELIGHT AS KILLARNEY ON ICE RETURNS

IT’S one of the highlights of the festive season in Killarney and now locals can look forward to the return of Killarney on Ice this weekend.

The ice rink will run on selected dates from Friday November 30 right unp until Sunday January 6; the rink will be locaqted at the Beech Road Car Park in Killarney.

9. FESTIVE CLASSICS IN TRALEE CINEMA

THE ‘Bring it Back’ Christmas season is back in Tralee Omniplex next month and there are four great festive films to choose from .

‘The Greatest Showman’, ‘Die Hard’, ‘Elf’ and ‘Home Alone’ will all show in Tralee cinema next month.

10. GET EXERCISING THIS WEEKEND WITH PARKRUN

WHY not try to head down to take part in one of the many parkruns taking place around Kerry at the weekends? There are five parkruns in Kerry: Tralee, Killarney, Listowel, Inch Beach and the Tralee junior parkrun.

These free 5km events are run every weekend by volunteers and they have been proven to be extremely popular in improving both physical and mental health.

The Tralee. Listowel and Killarney parkruns are held every Saturday morning from 9:30am onwards while the Tralee Junior parkrun takes place on Sunday at 9:30am - these 2km events are aged for children from 4-14 years old.

People can register and print off their barcode at parkrun.ie.
