Enable Ireland’s sparkling night out

ENABLE IRELAND KERRY ALL SET TO HOST ONE OF THE GLITZIEST NIGHTS OUT THE KINGDOM HAS EVER SEEN

-

WITH a real diamond up for grabs, top-class dining and one of Ireland’s best bands to entertain, the inaugural Enable Ireland Diamond Ball is set to be a dazzling event.

The Diamond Ball is being hosted by Enable Ireland Kerry at the Ballygarry House Hotel on Saturday, February 23, 2019.

Guests will be treated to a magnificent evening of fine dining, dancing and top-class entertainment provided by Brass and Co, who are no strangers to Kerry.

Brass and Co – who will be familiar to anyone who has attended the Rose of Tralee Ball in recent years – have developed a very special live sound which has made them one of the most highly sought-after and respected bands for many of Ireland’s most prestigious functions.

On the night, guests will be given the chance to win some amazing prizes including a beautiful diamond piece worth €1,000 courtesy of Billy Nolan and Hilsers Jewelers in Tralee.

All the funds raised from this black-tie event will go to support children and adults with disabilities using Enable Ireland services in Kerry. Sean Scally from Enable Ireland said the Ball affords a tremendous opportunity for the charity to raise funds and explain its work to a wider audience

“The Ball will be our flagship fundraiser in 2019 and gives us the opportunity to highlight the work we undertake in the community.” Sean said. “With the support of a great committee and the backing of Padraig McGillicuddy and all the team at Ballygarry House Hotel, it promises to be a wonderful night. A ticket to the Diamond Ball makes a great Christmas gift for family or friends and, you never know, they could be lucky enough to go home with a diamond.”

Should you wish to attend or you think tickets would make an ideal Christmas gift, then simply get in touch with Enable Ireland Kerry on 066 712 8220.

Tickets are selling fast and organisers are predicting a sold-out event over the next few weeks. The tickets are priced at €100 each, or you can book a table of 10 for €1000.

Enable Ireland Kerry Children’s services is based at Oakview Village, Tralee, and is part of Kerry Intervention Disability Services (KIDS).

KIDS is a partnership between the HSE, Enable Ireland, Brothers of Charity, and St John of Gods. It provides services to children and young people (up to the age of 18 years) with complex needs. Enable Ireland manages the Tralee Team. Currently 360 children from Tralee and the surrounding area avail of the services.

Founded in 1948, Enable Ireland provides services to over 7,500 children and adults with disabilities from over 40 locations in 14 counties.

Enable Ireland’s services for children and their families cover all aspects of a child’s physical, educational, and social development from early infancy through adolescence.

The charity offer a range of services to adults with disabilities. These include day-care training, personal development, supported and independent living, and social and leisure activities. Enable Ireland is part funded by the HSE and other statutory agencies.

“Every year we require over €2 million in additional funding to meet the costs of delivering our services. Without this additional income from our shops and fundraising, we would not be able to meet the needs of the children and their families relying on our services,” Sean said.

Enable Ireland have a nationwide chain of 21 retail shops selling clothes, books and brica-brac; and raise funds through community fundraising, corporate and national fundraising.

“The demand for our services continues to increase throughout Ireland. We have set ourselves the challenging goal of meeting these needs by providing a full range of high quality services, and expanding into local communities,” Sean said.
