BALLYHAR Dynamos extended their lead at the top of the table to 9 points at Pat Kennedy Park on Sunday with a big win over second placed Listowel Celtic B.

DENNY DIVISION 1B

Killarney Athletic B 2 Killorglin B 2

THE first half of this game was fairly uneventful with all the goals coming in the second half. It was Athletic that took the lead in the 56th minute with a Michael O’Neill goal. However, 10 minutes later Keith Curtin put Killorglin back on level terms with a fine strike.

Athletic thought they had the three points in the bag when they took the lead again with another Michael O’Neill goal in the 85th minute. However Killorglin’s never say die attitude paid dividends three minutes into added time when a long throw from Mitchell O’Sullivan found Mike O’Donoghue and he fired home the equaliser.

Windmill United 0 Castlegregory Celtic 0

CASTLEGREGORY went back to the top of the table after a scoreless draw with Windmill United. In a keenly contested game both sides had good chances to score but had to settle for a share of the spoils at the end.

This draw steadied the ship for Castlegregory after losing their two previous games and they are back leading the way in this division again.

DENNY DIVISION 2A

Killorglin C 2 Annascaul Inch Utd 2

ANNASCAUL/INCH United missed out on an opportunity to join Ballymac Celtic at the top of the table after they were held to a draw by Killorglin C who pegged back a two-goal deficit to earn a well deserved point.

The game was scoreless at half time with the main talking point a Manus Gallagher clearance off the line for Killorglin from an Annascaul corner.

Three minutes into the second half Annascaul went ahead from the penalty spot.

The West Kerry side seemed to be destined for victory when they scored their second goal in the 72nd minute, which was a wonder strike from 30 yards.

With 15 minutes left Killorglin pushed on and when Kieran O’Shea found Aidan O’Sullivan in space his terrific strike got one back for the home team.

Killorglin brought in Kevin Falvey, Mike Carey and Dean Callan and it was youngster Callan who levelled the game with five minutes left with his first goal for the seniors.

When Darren Curtayne’s header was saved Callan banged home the rebound to secure a point for his side in a very entertaining game.
