WEST MUNSTER UNDER 14 LEAGUE

Castleisland 12 Corca Dhuibhne 26

CORCA Dhuibhne made the journey to Castleisland last Tuesday evening for a back game in the West Munster League, and came away with the spoils after a very entertaining encounter that featured some brilliant running rugby.

The game was played in perfect conditions for rugby, and the home side started the better with Conor Kerin striking for an excellent try which was converted by Padraic Heffernan.

Corca Dhuibhne struck back straight away and James Fitzgerald went over for a try after a good bout of pressure from the visitors. Luke O’Connor made no mistake with the conversion. The final act of the first half was left to Castleisland’s Jack Breen who ran in a good try to see the home side lead 12-7 at half-time.

Corca Dhuibhne came out in the second half with refreshed vigour, and soon began to dominate the game. Tries from James Fitzgerald and Darragh Quirke came in quick succession as Castleisland lost Shane Browne due to illness and had no subs to come on.

Corca Dhuibhne continued to dominate thereafter, with Darragh Quirke adding his second try of the game, whilst O’Connor was once again deadly accurate with the conversion.

The away side ran out convincing winners and went back west happy with the spoils.

CLUB UNDER 16 CONFERENCE 2

Abbeyfeale 24 Killorglin 7

THIS was a strange game as Killorglin enjoyed plenty possession but couldn’t make it count as the home side were much more clinical in taking their scores.

Killorglin were down a number of injured players on the day but will be hopeful of having them all at full health for the second phase of the competition in the new year. The Killorglin try scorer was Conall Whelan.
