TABLE toppers Ballyhar Dynamos faced the acid test at Ballyduff on Sunday morning and they will be very happy coming away with a point against a strong home side. It was 1-1 at half-time with Niall McCarthy scoring a looping header for Ballyhar, while Aidan Boyle scored for Rattoo, Ballyhar went ahead on the hour mark with a Pádraig O’Connor penalty. However, Rattoo fought back and they equalised in the 70th minute with a Pádraig Boyle goal.

Best for Ballyhar were Patrick Daly, Maurice O’Donoghue, John Daly, Dan O’Shea, Ed Kerrisk, Diarmuid Brosnan, Shane O’Donoghue and Diarmuid O’Mahony.

This draw puts Ballyhar nine points ahead at the top of the league table which must be very pleasing for manager Donal O’Donoghue.

Atletico Ardfert 2 Sporting Listowel 1

THIS was a game which both sides needed to win to make a move up the table and it was Athletico Ardfert who took the spoils in a tight game. Gerry Wallace scored both of their goals one from the penalty spot.

Ballyheigu­e Athletic 1 Strand Road 3

STRAND Road got a much needed three points after a good win over Ballyheigu­e Athletic. JJ Prior, Pa McCarthy and Ivan Parker scored for the winners. Fionn Kavanagh got the Ballyheigu­e goal.

Castlemain­e United 1 Classic FC B 0

CASTLEMAIN­E made it two wins on the trot when they accounted for Classic FC in a very competitiv­e game. The sides went in scoreless at half time but super sub Kieran O’Carroll got the goal that won the game in the second half. Best for the winners were Jono O’Connor, Kieran O’Carroll, Padraig Wren and Ciaran O’Connor.
