1. LIPS ZIPPED EVENT IN BALLYBUNIO­N

THE Beale GAA will hold their Lips Zipped event this coming Saturday December 22 ay 8pm.

12 acts will take to the stage where they will perform a number of show stopping hits on an evening that promises to be a great night out for all.

Taking place in the Ballybunio­n Community Centre, tickets are €20 and can be purchased at local shops and bars in town.

2. FUNDRAISIN­G NIGHT OF MUSIC FOR CENTRE

THE Nagle Rice Community Centre will hold their one and only fundraiser of this year next week on December 20.

It will be an all-singing and alll dancing affair as the centre welcomes the ‘Britains Got Talent’ singing priest, Fr Ray Kelly.

Support acts on the night will include Noreen Ashe, Eddie Lee along with the Killorglin­s Mens Shed Choir.

Tickets for the night are now available to buy from both O’Doherty’s Pharmacy and Burke’s Butchers.

3. PHIL COULTER TO PLAY IN SIAMSA TÍRE

PHIL Coulter will be hoping to hit all the right notes when he performs in Tralee’s Siamsa Tíre this coming Friday, December 21.

The theme of the show is ‘Gold and Silver Days’.

Tickets for this not-to-be-missed sshow are currently on sale from the Siamsa Tíre box office. They will cost €30 with the show set to start at approximat­ely 8pm on the night.

4. RING IN THE NEW YEAR WITH NATHAN CARTER

NATHAN Carter is back in the INEC again this New Years Eve but never fear as there are still tickets available to buy.

Tickets are set to cost between €33 and €36 and are available to buy from the INEC box office or from the INEC website.

Doors open on the night at 8pm wwith the show starting at 9pm.

5. RING IN THE NEW YEAR WITH CHARITY RUN

WITH New Years just around the corner, that means that it is time to welcome back the annual Optimal Fitness 5k and 10k runs.

The Optimal Fitness Tralee 5k and 10k Road Race takes place on December 31 at 11am and proceeds raised will go to the Palliative Care Unit in Tralee.

Online registrati­on closes on December 28th.

6. GAVIN JAMES TO PLAY IN THE INEC THIS MONTH

IT’S been a whirlwind three years for Irish singer and singwriter Gavin James and now the ‘Bitter Pill’ musician will bring his musical talents once again back to the INEC in Killarney.

He will perform at the venue on the night of Friday December 28 with tickets still currently on sale from the INEC box office or website.

Doors open at 8pm with the show itself starting at 9pm; a standing ticket will cost €30.90 and seating ticket €34.50.

7. KILFYNN TO HOLD ANNUAL CHARITY TABLE QUIZ

THE Kilflynn Cancer Support group will hold their annual table quiz on Friday December 28 at 9pm.

The quiz will be held between two pubs in Parkers Pub and Herbert’s Bar. All proceeds from the night will be split between Recovery Haven, Kerry Hospice and Kerry Cancer Support.

There will be spot prizes and a raffle held on the night also.

8. FESTIVE FUN RUN TAKING PLACE IN BALLYDUFF

THE annual festive 5k fun run will take place in Ballyduff this coming Stephens Day (today) at 11am.

This years run will depart from the church car park and will be in aid of the Irish Cancer Society. Donations will be accepted on the day or sponsorshi­ps cards are available by contacting Gillian on 0863248816.

9. DELIGHT AS KILLARNEY ON ICE RETURNS

IT’S one of the highlights of the festive season in Killarney and now locals can look forward to the return of Killarney on Ice this weekend.

The ice rink will run on selected dates from Friday November 30 right unp until Sunday January 6; the rink will be locaqted at the Beech Road Car Park in Killarney.

10. GET EXERCISING THIS WEEKEND WITH PARKRUN

WHY not try to head down to take part in one of the many parkruns taking place around Kerry at the weekends? There are five parkruns in Kerry: Tralee, Killarney, Listowel, Inch Beach and the Tralee junior parkrun.

These free 5km events are run every weekend by volunteers and they have been proven to be extremely popular in improving both physical and mental health.

The Tralee. Listowel and Killarney parkruns are held every Saturday morning from 9:30am onwards while the Tralee Junior parkrun takes place on Sunday at 9:30am - these 2km events are aged for children from 4-14 years old.

People can register and print off their barcode at parkrun.ie.
