Kerry Airport’s restaurant and bar set for a major makeover
THE Gateway Bar and Restaurant at Kerry Airport is to get a new look for the New Year.
Work on the four-week refurbishment is set to start next Monday, January 12, during which time the queuing system and general ambience of the restaurant will be transformed.
A Coffee Dock facility within the Departures Area for outbound passengers to avail of tea, coffee, sandwiches and light snacks will be open during the improvement works, while the bar and restaurant in the main airport concourse will be closed to facilitate the refurbishment.
“The recent redevelopment of the pre-boarding area in our departures lounge has been a great success and now it’s time for the bar and restaurant to follow suit. On completion of the work, we will be introducing a more efficient queuing system, incorporating a new self-service area,” said Kerry Airport Financial Controller Basil Sheerin.
The restaurant will be fitted out with new catering equipment and an overall upgrade to lighting, furnishings, and décor.
The Board of Kerry Airport said they accept that there is never a good time to close an important facility like a restaurant and the management at the Airport are asking their customers to bear with them during this period.
