Hurdle racing is returning to Tralee

GOD be with the days of the Kerry National and yours truly has fond memories of the years it was staged at the old Ballybunion track.

Hurdle racing has a special attraction attached to it and it is great to see it returning to Tralee Track through the staging of a novice 525yds sweepstake which starts on Friday, January 18.

There is an entry fee of just €10 and the winner’s purse will be a terrific €1,000 if an entry of 18 can be achieved.

A pre-requisite is a qualifying hurdle trial beforehand and let’s hope that there are enough doggy people out there interested enough to make up the entries that are required.
