BASKETBALL CAMP

St Josephs Basketball club Duagh is organising a 3 day basketball camp in January 19 with special coaches and guest appearance­s.To secure a place make sure to get your entry form in time to the organisers. those who wish to enter swimming from U8 to U16. PORTER CUP

The Annual golf outing between Lerrig and the rest of the World was played on Saturday in Ballyheigu­e Castle GC. with the Porter Cup the reward for the winners. In an exciting game it was the rest of the World winning out in the end on a scoreline of 126 to 108. Captain Eddie Meehan presented the Rest of World Captain Brendan Godley with the Porter Cup.

SCHOOL HURLING FINAL

To celebrate the day of the Christmas Holidays a very exciting, sporting and closely contested Hurling league Final, ably and skilfully refereed by Laura Collins took place at the school on Friday 21st December. The work of hurling coaches Declan Lovett and Giles O’ Grady was very evident in the skills and proficienc­y displayed by the children. Medals were presented to the winning team by school Principal Mrs. Áine Crowe.

ST BRENDAN’S ATHLETIC CLUB

The club had a number of athletes in action over Christmas week in a number of venues, including the Farranfore Maine Valley AC road race on St Stephen’s Day as well as runs in Ballyheigu­e and Ballyduff. The club also had athletes in a number of parkruns over the week. Among the athletes involved in the various races were David Butler, Irene Butler, Artur Nowak, Kevin Horgan, Aaron Horgan, Ben O’Connor, Matthew O’Sullivan, Rory O’Halloran, Zach Walshe, Alex O’Carroll, Gerard Carroll, Pádraig Regan, Pat Sheehy, Cathy Flynn, Linda O’Sullivan and Declan Sheehan.

Juvenile training for St Brendan’s AC starts this Wednesday evening at 6.30 in Ardfert Community Centre. The session will conclude at 8pm for U8 to U11. Training for U12s upwards is in Ardfert sportsfiel­d from 6.45 to 7.45pm.
