SOCCER LOTTO

There was no jackpot winner in last weeks Mountcolli­ns AFC lotto where the numbers drawn were 2, 6, 10 and 14. Lucky dip prizes went to Mike Irwin, Rockchapel, Con Murphy, Mountcolli­ns, Mikey O Connor, Brosna, Noah O Connor, c/o Mossie McCarthy, Mountcolli­ns and Patrick Brosnan, Brosna. The winner of the promoters prize was Mountcolli­ns GAA. This weeks jackpot will be €7,800.

CARD GAME

The winners of first prize at last weeks card game were Nora Lyons, Anita Danagher and Ann Cahill. The runners up prize went to Margaret McAulliffe, Jackie Brouder and Laurence McAuliffe.

The table prize went to the team of Jackie Hartnett, Teddy O Sullivan and John Quirke.

The door prize went to John Quirke with raffle prizes going to Eileen Finnegan, Noel Murphy, John Lyons and Den Lane (twice) Cards as usual on this Thursday night at 9pm and all are welcome.

CEILI

The first ceili of the new year in Halla Tadgh Gaelach, Tournafull­a will be held on Friday night week, Janurary 11th. Dancing will commence at 9.30pm and be to the music of Taylors Cross Ceili Band. Refreshmen­ts will be served during the evening and all are welcome.

NEW GYM

A new gym will open in Mountcolli­ns Community Centre shortly which will prove to bea wonderful asset for the whole community. It will be especially benifitial to local sports clubs and keep fit enthusiast­s as well as people from our neighbouri­ng communitie­s. The fully fitted facility’s will be supervised by fully qualified personal and will have training sessions to suit the beginner of the more advanced person. Classes are open to both male and female and more details are available from Glasha Fitness.

RECENT DEATHS

Sympathy is extended to Margaret Lenihan and family, Knockane, Mountcolli­ns on the death of her brother, John Cronin who died suddenly during the past week. Funeral arrangemen­ts will be announced later. May he Rest in Peace.Sympathy is also extended to the relatives of our former Parish Priest Fr. Liam Kelly who was laid to rest during the past week. Fr. Kelly spent seven years as P.P. Of Mountcolli­ns/ Tournafull­a parish before he was transferre­d to Parteen, Co. Clare. May he Rest in Peace.
