Engines ready to go for annual Red Fox Tractor Run

- By STEPHENFERNANE

THE Red Fox Inn is the place to be on Sunday, February 24 if tractors and raising money for good causes are your things.

The third annual Red Fox Inn Tractor Run will be held in memory of the late John Teahan. – a great supporter of the event when it started – who sadly he passed away from cancer in 2017.

John was very much respected and loved in his community and it’s a fitting tribute to host the tractor run in memory of him. In excess of 120 tractors from all parts of the county turned out for last year’s event, which managed to raise over €13,000 for two local charities.

“We’ve had amazing turnouts in the past and we hope to have a big crowd this year too,” said Jenny Teahon, wife of the late John.

“It’s an event that is close to the heart for me, and it’s nice that people are thinking of him [John]. We’re overwhelmed at how lovely and warm people can be at this event,” she said.

The proceeds from this year’s tractor run will go to the Palliative Care Room in St Joseph’s Killorglin and to the Killorglin Branch of the Irish Pilgrimage Trust; an organisation that takes children and adults with special needs to Lourdes.

Registration is at 11am, and the convoy leaves The Red Fox Inn at 12.30pm before taking in Glenbeigh, Cromane, Killorglin, Caragh Lake and returning to The Red Fox.
