Scoil Mhuire na mBraithre, CBS Primary School, Tralee

OUR school is ideally located in the town of Tralee and serves a community that includes children from all areas of the town and beyond. The school is (from September 2005) a co-educational school which caters for boys and girls from Junior Infants to Sixth Class. Our school has a Catholic ethos and we prepare the children for the sacraments of First Penance, First Communion and Confirmation during their time with us. One of our guiding principles is the achievement of high standards of education in the school. However, in keeping with our philosophy of developing the child as a whole person we also emphasise the areas of sport, music, art and craft, drama and science. As a “Green School”, we promote a love and respect for the environment among the children through an awareness of litter, recycling projects and by being actively involved in the school garden. Our school is also a “Health Promoting School” and many initiatives are organised in the area of health promotion during the year.
