CORRANDULLA, Co. Galway was the neutral venue set for this cross-Conference game between Team Tom McCarthy’s and Fabplus North West as the team played their third last game of the league.

Fabplus took an early lead dominating the first quarter, 10 of their 18 points coming from Adiya Henderson while scores from Tom McCarthy’s came from Aoife Nolan, Mary Herlihy, Maebh Barry and Mia Hopkins. The St. Mary’s side closed the gap in the second quarter outscoring their opponents by four with great performances from both Labhaoise Walmsley and Deirdre Geaney and just three points separated the sides at the half time interval. The third quarter was once again close, Team Tom McCarthy’s took it by a basket closing the gap to a single point as the sides went in to the final quarter but Fabplus kept in touch and did not give their opponents any opportunity to get ahead.

It was anyone’s game in the final period and with just 29 seconds to play the sides were level but a determined Fabplus held on to win by three points.
