THERE was no joy for the Park in the Under 13 and Under 15 SFAI Regional semi-finals. In a quirk of draw both sides were drawn against Aisling Annacotty from Limerick
The Under 13s welcomed Aisling Annacotty to Christy Leahy Park, but it was the visitors that had the better of the first half to go 2-0 up.
The Park did pull one back through Ciaran Kavanagh but they ran out of time to find an equaliser and force extra-time.
The Under 13s and Under 15s Girls Premier are still in the National Cups. The Under 13s will travel to Waterford to take on Southend United in the last 16, while in their last 16 clash the Under 15s welcome Naas to Tralee.
KILLARNEY Celtic put their National Cup defeat behind them with a great away win over Shannon United in the Regional semi-final. THEY had to go all the way to sudden death penalties to qualify for the decider. Celtic will take on Kildimo United in the Regional Final with the Killarney side on the road.
Celtic went behind just before half-time, but Jack O’Sullivan scored to level matters and that how in stayed until the end.
In the penalty shoot-out Eoghan Crowley, Robbie Harnett, Cathal Kelly and Timothy Moynihan were all successful from the spot.
Shay O’Meara then made a great save on the last Shannon penalty to send it into sudden death and Colin O’Callaghan showed nerves of steel to wrap up the win after the home side missed their kick.
Under 15
THE Park travelled on Friday night and while they were probably the better side in the end the only goal of the game went to the Limerick side from a long range free kick after 52 minutes.
Aisling Annacotty now await the winners of Galbally United and Killarney Celtic who meet this weekend.
