Why holidays can strengthen relationships...

-

A 2017 study in the US discovered that taking regular breaks is better for relationships. The Arizona Department of Health and Human Services found that by enjoying life and ‘ pressing the pause button’ every so often helps to strengthen bonds and affection.

It’s not exactly a eureka moment to discover this as we all know spending more time with the people and places that matter most is common sense. But modern life can make us all overlook the simple things. For example, paying bills, working long hours, childcare, and much more besides, can soak up much of our precious time.

Taking regular breaks is a simple way of recalibrating relationships. Be it a sun holiday, a quite weekend away, or an adventure holiday - the benefits are yours to enjoy. So many people have discovered to their delight that the world doesn’t stop when they take a few days off. They realise that the same job and responsibilities are still there waiting for them when they get back. That’s not a problem, the problem is when you feel you can’t take a break because of the above. Sometimes it’s you and your relationship that will pay the price for not taking things easy every once and a while.

Spending time enjoying life with loved ones keeps relationships strong, helping you to enjoy the good times even more. The US based study also found that the more a couple went on holiday, the more satisfied they were with their relationship. Making time and memories together is what matters, and holidays play a big part in this.
