DEATHS
Sympathy is extended to the sons, daughters, brother, sisters, all family members, relatives and friends of the late John Curtin Kildare and Duagh who died on February 4th.
Requiem mass was in Duagh on Friday February 8th with burial afterwards in Brosna Cemetery.

SOLO SINGING
Well done to our participants in solo singing last Sunday in Keel. Duagh/Lyre were represented in u12 solo singing by Holly Murtagh and in u16 by Caoimhe Harte. Unfortunately outside the medals in very competitive competition. Well done girls keep up the good work, we hope you enjoyed your day.

Tomorrow(Thursday) is Valentine’s day and this just gives one day for the men to grab a card and a few blooms for the ladies or suffer the consequences.

The winners of the darts in Parker’s Lounge Bar , Kilflynn on Saturday 9th February were Tim O’Halloran and Derek Fealy who defeated Darragh Mulvihill and Micheal O’Sullivan in the Final. The winners received a leg of lamb each. The next darts doubles tournament takes place on Saturday 16th February at 10.30p.m in Parker’s Lounge Bar. The winners will receive a leg of lamb each.

The North Kerry Harriers Club held a hunt in the Kilflynn area on Sunday 10th February, It was a Another Fantastic day out. Player of the WeekCongratulations to Fionn who was awarded “Best Team Player of the Week” by his club Fenit Samphires. Fionn demonstrated sportsmanship and team work in every game. Fionn is an unselfish player and supports and cheers for his teammates. While Fionn’s great performances in the game of soccer are appreciated, it’s important to note his accomplishments off the field are valued just as much as those achieved on the field. This week Fionn won the handwriting competition in the Community Games and will now go forward to the next round of the competition. Well done Fionn!

ST BRENDAN’S AC
The club had a great day at the Munster indoor athletics championships in Nenagh on Sunday last. Ursula Barrett won 3 gold! In the O-40 60m with a lifetime best of 8.82 secs; in the long jump with 4.61m and in the 200m with 30.20 secs. Aaron Malik won the gold in the junior hurdles with a time of 9.80 secs. David Butler got silver in the O-35 shot with 5.60m; Martin Butler got a silver in the O-65 shot with 7.81m and a bronze in the O-65 800m in 3-16.85; David Kissane got bronze in the O-65 400m with 1-25.80 and a bronze in the O-65 shot with 7.26m and the St Brendan’s AC masters 4x200m relay team won bronze and the team was Finbarr Collins, David Butler, Martin Butler and David Kissane.
The previous day Ben O’Connor kept the St Brendan’s AC juvenile colours high with good performances in the long jump, sprint and 500m.CamogieJessica Fitzell played at full forward on the CIT team who were defeated by NUIG to a last minute goal in the semi final of the Third level colleges Purcell Cup on Saturday. Jessica will also be a member of the Kerry senior camogie panel this weekend along with Kilmoyley girls Laura Collins, Brid Horan, Eilish Harrington, Sarah McCarthy and Clodagh Walsh in Division 2 of the Littlewoods Ireland camogie league.
Kerry face Westmeath in their first game at home this Sunday at 2pm at venue yet to be confirmed. Two weeks later Kerry will play Wexford at home and travel away to Armagh in their following fixture. Kerry’s final group game is at home to Galway.
