YOUTHS

U14’s - Our u14’s are doing very well in the West Munster League. Having played game at home and away they are competing very well and have celebrated many victories to date. There most recent game against Castleisland was a nail biting experience. It came down to the wire with the Listowel lads sealing the victory.

U16’ - U16’s joined with Tralee RFC and this has proved to be a very successful amalgamation. They compete in the Bank of Ireland Munster Cup Competition and are 1 win away from making the =BC Final..

U18’s - U18’s have had a disappointing season so far with opponent teams unable to field due to numbers therefore not travelling to fulfil the fixtures. Despite this we are confident that the team will make it to the final eight in the competition.

All new players are more than welcome and no experience is necessary

For more information contact one of our head coaches below,

U14’s: Joe Murphy 086 1091960 (boys born in 2005 and 2006)

U16’s: Ryan O’Connor 087 2976305 (boys born in 2003 and 2004)

U18’s: Aidan Mulvihill 087 9303099 (boys born between 1/7/00 -- 31/12/02)

MINIS

The minis continue to train in the Town Park on Saturday mornings from 10.30-12.00. They have had some home and away blitz days. Our home blitz proved to be very successful with teams from Killorglin and Killarney attending. Over 180 boys and girls took to the pitch. Killarney also brought their u12’s girls team who took on the Listowel girls. Well done to Paul Creighton and all who helped make the day such a success.

This is for boys and girls born from 2007 to 2012.

For more information contact Paul on 086 6081293.

GIRLS

Not only have we teams at u18 and u15 but we also have a girls mini section including u14’s. For more information contact Kieran on 087 1341805

Our mini girls train every Saturday on the Town Park pitch. The girls hosted Killarney just before Christmas and had a great day showing off their skills while enjoying the game of rugby. Well done to Chip on a successful event.

U14’S

Our U14’s girls play as part of a Kerry Girls set up where players from Killarney, Tralee and Kilorglin come together to train and compete as a team. To date the girls have played two blitz days in Clonakilty and Tralee and are proving to be a very impressive team. They stand third in their conference with just one more blitz day left in Ballincollig on February 9th.

U15’S

Listowel U16’s amalgamated with Tralee RFC at the start of the season. The season got off to a good start but due to opponents failing to fulfil their fixtures the girls struggle to compete in games.

U18’S

The girls are now focusing on the first round of the Munster Cup on February 23rd. Having had a good league and narrowly losing out to a place in the semi finals the girls regroup and prepare for their first game.

Congratulations to our u18 girls Emma Reidy, Meabh McElligott, Aine Enright, Diane O’ Connor and Mary Kate Reidy who have been invited to a Munster u18’s training session in Independent Park Cork . Over the next few weeks the girls will be out through the passes and get to show their skills. Good luck to the girls.

PITCH DEVELOPMENT

Over the past couple of months we have been putting a lot of work into the development of the training areas at the COOp pitch. A lot of groundwork has now been completed with new drains put in place and training area extended with the addition of extra lighting. Extra containers to accommodate home and away teams are now in situ. We now have extra space for parking and a new pathway for supporters. A lot of work goes into getting this work done and a big thank you goes to all involved.

FACEBOOK

Listowel RFC now has over 3870 Facebook friends and continues its quest to become Kerry’s best followed club. We would urge once again that you all encourage your friends to befriend Listowel RFC and like our results page Listowel Rugby, our next target has to be 4000 friends.
