DWTS judge Brian says excitement is building for shows

INEC THE ONLY VENUE IN THE COUNTRY TO HOLD ‘DANCING WITH THE STARS’ LIVE AS FIVE CELEBRITY COUPLES GET READY TO BRING GLITZ AND GLAMOUR

- By FERGUS DENNEHY

FIVE celebrity couples will bring glitz and glamour to the INEC next month when they take part in what will be the first touring date for the ‘Dancing with the Stars Live Show’.

Brian Redmond will be one of the judges and speaking to

last Thursday, he said that, for fans, it will pretty much be like being at a ‘Dancing With The Stars (DWTS) themed festival for the whole weekend.

“There was two reasons really that we chose Killarney for the debut show. Obviously DWTS has a very strong Kerry connection what it being the home county of our first ever winner, Aidan O’Mahony,” said Brian.

“Of course then, in the INEC, we have a fabulous venue and we obviously have some great fans of the show here in Kerry so having it in Killarney gives all these fans a great chance to see the dancers live,” he continued.

Leading the returning celebrities is reigning champion Mairead Farrell and her prodance partner John Nolan.

Following in her footsteps are Johnny Ward and Emily Barker, Jake Carter and Karen Byrne, Cliona O Hagan and Robert Rowinski and Thalia Heffernan will partner with pro-dancer and her partner in real life Ryan McShane.

“There’s a total buzz around the whole show in terms of the cast. Obviously they all had a great time doing the TV show and sure now they’re going to get another chance,” Brian continued.

“It’ll be the first time that we’ll have champions from different seasons competing against one another. You know, we’ve obviously got Máiread Ronan, who was our champion from last year and we’ve got Jake Carter, the winner from the year before. Even for contestants like Cliona Hagan and Johnny Ward who were in the final last year but didn’t manage to lift the Glitterball Trophy, this is another chance for them to have a go at it,” he continued.

Promising a great family weekend, Brian finished up by saying that all audience members will have the opportunity to vote for who they would like to see lift the Glitterball Trophy at the end of each show, and experience all the glitz, glamour, music, dance, fun and entertainment, of one of Ireland’s most popular TV shows live and in person.

Tickets for the show are still available to buy from the INEC box office by calling 064 667 1555.
