Four wins from four in U-13 National Cup

U-13 NATIONAL CUP ROUND 2

MASTERGEEH­A are also through to Round 3 of the Skechers National Cup following a 3-2 home win over Clughjorda­n. Sean McAuliffe, Ronan McCarthy and James O’Connor were on the score sheet for Mastergeeh­a who will be at home to AK in the next Round.

Killorglin were too strong for Nenagh and won 8-0 to book a home game in the next round against the winner of Caherdavin and Murroe. The Killorglin goals came from Aaron Doyle (3), Adam O’Neill, Charles O’Sullivan, Oran O’Sullivan and Darragh Lynch.

Killarney Athletic made it a good day as they followed their U-13 into Round 3 with a 5-2 home win over Newmarket Celtic. Alex Hennigan hit three with Ryan McCarthy and Tom Benson getting one each for Athletic. Who will be home to Aisling B or Cullen Lattin in the next round.

Killarney Celtic are another team into the next round as they defeated Kilfrush Crusaders 6-1 after being 2-0 up at half time. The Celtic goals came from Josh Bowler, Robbie Harnett, Eoin Crowley, Nattagun Ryan and Edward Myers. Celtic will be at home to the winners of Shelbourne and Killorglin who play next week.

Mastergeeh­a and The Park both had big wins. The Kilbrean side were 9-1 winners away at Murroe with Hugh Lenihan and Eoin Kelly both scoring hat tricks while Sean Doolan, Jack O’Donoghue and Jack Fogarty got the other goals. Mastergeeh­a will be at home to the winners of Fairview Rangers and Newport while The Park are away to either Kildimo or Pike Rovers.

Amongst the goals for the Park in their win at Newcastlew­est Town were Venis Jahiri (2), Thomas Durege, Odharan Ferris, Obina Izehi and Rodrigo Pinho.

Already through are Camp Juniors who will face Kerry side Tralee Dynamos B, Fenit who are at home to Holy Cross and Killarney Celtic who go to Newcastlew­est Town.

Inter Kenmare lost out on penalties 4-3 at home to Avenue United after drawing 1-1. Darragh O’Sullivan got the Inter goal.

U-15 NATIONAL CUP ROUND 3

KILLARNEY Athletic were the first Kerry side to book their place in the Skechers U-15 National Cup Round 3 with a 5-2 win over Newcastlew­est. Alex Henningan hit 3 and Ryan McCarthy and Tom Benson one each for the Woodlawn side. Athletic will be at home to Aisling Annacotty B or Cullen Lattin in the next round.

Inter Kenmare’s run ends with a penalty shoot-out defeat at home to Avenue United from Ennis. Darragh O’Sullivan got the Inter goal and they hit the crossbar twice in a game where they did have the better chances.

U-11 SECOND ROUND

TWENTY-SIX teams of U-11s took part in the second round of their Non Trophy season. It is great to see these young players enjoying playing and learning the skills of the Beautiful Game from the coaches. It is all about getting players playing and not worrying about goals or scorers at this level.
