COISTE NA NÓG

Down Memory Lane:2015 - The Under 8’s took part in their second football blitz of the year on Sunday and again managed to field two talented teams. The weather was much more cooperative this time. On the field, the players showed continued improvement with both teams winning well.

2017- Junior Lip Sync All roads led to Ballyduff Community Centre last Sunday night for the first Ballyduff GAA Junior Lip Sync. After weeks of rehearsing under the watchful eye of Ciara and Caitlin from the Cassie Leen Dance School the eight acts comprising of boys and girls of all ages were ready to take to the stage. The 200 and more people in the audience were entertained first with a group performance of Grease and the high standard continued during the night with acts that varied from The Blues

Brothers to The Spice Girls to One Direction. By the end of the show it was obvious that the judges would have a difficult job picking a winner, and while they went off to deliberate their decision, the crowd were treated to a dance routine by dancers from the Cassie Leen Dance School.

Finally, as excitement reached fever pitch, Wrong Direction (Tommy O’Grady, Darragh Quinlan, Kieran O’Carroll, Anthony Kavanagh and Adam Segal) were named as overall winners with their performance of “That’s what makes you beautiful” but I’m sure all in attendance would agree that any one of the eight acts were in contention for the main prize. Special thanks to the judges Padraig Doyle, Isobel Leahy and Kevin Maguire who provided encouraging feedback to all the groups and to Kevin Ross as MC who kept the show running smoothly.
