What is your earliest sporting memory?

It would be sleeping in a tent in Mondello Park, because my dad was sleeping in the van and needed a good night’s sleep.

Who was your sporting hero growing up?

My dad or Joey Dunlop.

What sports do you watch on TV?

I watched a lot of American motocross and motorbike racing, Grand Prix racing.

If you could choose any sporting event in the world to go to, which one would you choose?

That’s a great question... which one would I like to do to? Kerry beating Dublin in the football if that would ever happen again! [Valentino] Rossi’s home race in Missano probably.

Can you explain what a superbike is exactly?

The team I ride for at the moment is TAG Honda in Dublin. It’s a Honda Fireblade superbike. The difference between the superbike you can go down to John Shanahan’s and buy and my superbike is that basically to look at it it’s nearly the same, but we’d have different tyres, different brakes, we would have a tuned engine, we would have lighter exhausts, different suspensions, different electronics. Putting it in terms of rally cars it’s putting a WRC car against your road car. They are very much modified, even down to the pivot points on the suspension, the head angles on the forks and stuff to give you a different tow. They look the same if you’re looking from the outside in, but they’re totally different on the inside.

What music do you like?

Anything really from Oasis to any country. I’d put something on Spotify and anything could come up on it. It would be mostly kind of RnB stuff.

What TV shows would you be interested in?

Netflix series, any good series would get me going, Sopranos anything like that. Documentaries as well. I love watching documentaries on Sky.
