HENNEBERY’S SPORTS RESERVE CUP
Tralee Dynamos B 0 St Brendans Park 3
ST Brendans Park progressed to the quarter-final of the Hennebery’s Reserve Cup with a comprehensive win over Tralee Dynamos at Mounthawk Park on Saturday night.
They controlled large parts of the game against a well organised and committed Dynamos B side. This eventually told on 35 minutes when a rasping drive from Seán Kedzierski from the edge of the box found the net via the crossbar.
Three minutes later, Dean Scanlon cleverly headed the ball sideways to James Fisher. He fed a great slide through ball to Donagh O’Brien who expertly lifted the ball over the onrushing keeper Dynamos keeper and into the net.
The second half followed a similar pattern. James Fisher struck the near post on the hour mark but ten minutes later the tie was effectively sealed when a dipping Kedzierski free kick was diverted to the net via a Dynamos head.
The home side never gave up and got in behind the Park defence on a couple of occasions, but keeper Gavin O’Brien made some smart saves. Several other great chances for the Park were spurned but overall it was a very good all round performance.
Referee Anthony Morrison handled the game very well.
