JUVENILE HURLING

The u11s travelled to Farranfore on Sunday to play Firies. Conditions were perfect for hurling and both sides put on a great display. Well done to all.U17sFiries again provided the opposition on Sunday morning when they travelled to Pairc Naomh Erc, Kilmoyley for the first round of the County league. The visitors were well on top in the early stages and led by three points to nil after ten minutes. But once Kilmoyley found their rhythm, there was no stopping them and they won comfortably in the end playing some superb hurling. Credit to Firies who continued to battle to the end and were rewarded with a late goal.

SENIORS

County league result: Kilmoyley 1.09 Crotta O’Neills 0.16. Played in ideal conditions on Friday evening, this turned out to be a disappointing game as Kilmoyley struggled to find form, particularly in the second half against the County champions. However, they have time to improve on certain areas and are still in the hunt to qualify for the league final.

INTERMEDIATES

County league result: Kilmoyley 1.11 St. Brendans 2.15. This game was played in ideal conditions in Ardfert on Sunday afternoon and was very competitive until the closing stages when the home side added a second goal to put daylight between the sides. A David Dineen goal early in the game put Kilmoyley into the lead and with Darragh Corridon in fine form with some long-distance shooting Kilmoyley were very much in the game. But the home side ended the first half with a goal to edge in front and they brought that momentum into the second half to earn the win. Next up for Kilmoyley is Abbeydorney on Wednesday.

COUNTY HURLERS

Best of luck to Flor McCarthy, Ronan Walsh, Maurice O’Connor and the Kerry senior hurlers as they face Offaly on Sunday at Glenisk O’Connor park at 1pm in a crucial Joe McDonagh tie. A win for Kerry is a big ask but would almost guarantee them a place in the final.

KERRY CAMOGIE

Well done to the County u16 team who had an excellent win over Armagh in round 2 of the All Ireland B championship at St. Rynaghs club in Banagher, Co. Offaly on Sunday. Kerry started very well and were well on top until Armagh got a goal before the break to put them one point in front. But an early Kate Maunsell goal helped Kerry to a well deserved win on a final score of Kerry 4.06 Armagh 1.08.
