Ballybunion Tidy Towns are hosting a drop in session at the Cashen Biodiversity Garden on Thursday 30th May, between 7 and 9pm. We’d love to see you there for a stroll around and see what’s going on.

May devotions to Our Lady by saying the Rosary each evening at 7.00pm for the month of May at Our Lady’s Grotto in Ahafona. Everyone is welcome to attend. Summer Vibes Market in Ballybunion has been brought to life by people who are passionate about their small business and would like to create a fun, safe and all inclusive space for other vendors to show off their talents and welcome customers who are after some one of a kind gifts, locally produced and cooked food, tasty treats and some fun atmosphere.
We would like to thank those businesses who shared our vision and stepped up to support our new ventures.
Greg and Una Ryan from McMunns Bar and Restaurant who kindly offered their garden space for our stalls, Paudie Collins from Rhino Roofing and Cladding, Ballylongford who sponsored our posters and advertising materials and of course Emily and Gráinne from Beach Hive Ballybunion for their expertise advice on setting up a summer market.
Summer Vibes will be open every Saturday from 10am until 3pm from 1st June until 31st August in McMunns Garden at the end of Main Street in Ballybunion.

MEALS ON WHEELS
The Ballybunion meals on wheels service will be delivered 3 days a week, meals will be delivered on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Anyone wishing to avail of delivery please contact Eileen Fogarty on 086 2234 965 or Con McCarthy on 087 418 4241. The areas covered are Ballybunion, Lisselton, Asdee and Ballylongford. The dinner will be delivered to your door by one of the men at the cost of €7 per meal.
COMMUNITY CENTRE
The booking office in the centre is unavailable due to refurbishments. Bookings can be made by calling the landline and leaving a voice message.
These messages are monitored. Alternatively, and recommended if possible, email ballybcomcentre@gmail.com. Neil will be manning the emails and taking your bookings from 10am to 2pm Tuesday to Friday. Neill is temporarily working from his desk in the tourist office.

CLOTHES COLLECTION
Scoil Íosagáin’s Parents Association will hold several clothes collections throughout the year. Clothes can be dropped to the front door of the school at any time during the school year, during school hours Monday to Friday only. Reusable items of clothing, bed linen (No quilts or pillows), paired shoes, belts, handbags, towels and curtains. Please do not leave bags at the school gates.
TAEKWONDO BALLYBUNION
Taekwondo Classes are ongoing in Ballybunion Community Centre upstairs hall, on Wednesday evening for beginners aged 5yrs+, teens and adults and on Friday evenings for beginner teens and adults. Ballydonoghue GAA, as part of the Healthy Club initiative, is hosting a free Drugs and Alcohol workshop in Ballydonoghue Clubrooms on Monday May 27th 7-9pm. The workshop is open to all ages and everyone inside and outside the parish. All are welcome.
ROAD SAFETY INITIATIVE
Due to concerns in the decline in driver behaviour at Lisselton Cross, a petition is now open to advance the installation of further traffic-calming measures. If you would like to be associated with it, you can sign it at Ryan’s Mace, Lisselton. One doesn’t need to add their contact details if preferred. Signature will do.

Congratulations to Ballydononoghue girls, Eliza O’Donnell, Niamh Mulvihill and Emily Kissane, who play with the U15 Listowel Celtic team and won the 2024 U15 League and Cup. Well done girls on winning the double.

Ballybunion is delighted with the news that ‘Summer Vibes Market’ will be opening its gates on Saturday, June 1st at McMunn’s Garden, located at the bottom of Main St, and will run until Saturday, August 31st. Time: 10.00am - 3.00pm. This is a brand new market, twenty-five vendors, with a huge array of gifts and crafts to choose from. Something to suit everyone.
GER KENNELLY MEMORIAL CHARITY VINTAGE RUN
The fundraising Vintage Run takes place on Sunday, June 9th. Registration commences at 12 noon at Moyvane Community Centre. Entertainment and refreshments afterwards at Tomáisín’s, Lisselton where the draw will take place. Tickets available from the Kennelly family and at Tomáisín’s. All proceeds to Ballybunion Sea Rescue. More details next week.

LOTTO DRAW
The results of the weekly Ballyduff GAA Club, Lady’s Walk Hurling Club and the Ballyduff Community Games Committee Lotto Draw for Tuesday May 14th are as follows: The numbers drawn were 15, 18 and 21 and the Bonus number was 2. There was no winner of the €14,400 Jackpot or the €400 Match 3 prize. The €20 consolation prizes were won by Angela O’Connor, Online: Pádraig Doyle, Meadow Lane and Katsy Rochford, Clahane. The Lotto Draw takes place on each Tuesday night at the GAA Clubrooms. Tickets cost €2.50 each and are available at the local shops and businesses and from members of the promoting Clubs. U7 HURLING: On Monday a great evening was had in Finuge GAA as our U7 footballers played their first blitz. The future is bright with these smiling faces coming up. Thanks to everyone involved and to the hosts Finuge.
U9 HURLING
The weather on Tuesday might not have been great but that did not put a damper on the U9 hurling blitz that took place at home in Ballyduff. There was almost 70 children there this evening between Abbeydorney, St. Brendan’s, Crotta and ourselves. Our boys played great and represented themselves brilliantly. Massive thanks to all the travelling teams, mentors, our own mentors and parents.
U7 HURLING
Our U7 hurlers were out Thursday evening for a blitz in Ballyheigue. There was four teams Ballyheigue, Crotta, Tralee Parnells Hurling and Camogie and ourselves. They had a great night thanks a million to all the organisers and our own coaches for all they do.

Annual Pilgrimage to Knock: Our second Annual Pilgrimage to Knock will take place on Saturday 24th August 2024. While many families will travel by car it is hoped that many buses will travel and that each pastoral area will coordinate parishes locally. A big thank you to all who contributed to our last collection which was a great success. Clothes can be dropped in the shelter at the school on the evening of June 12th or from early morning to 10am. on June 13th .
SUMMER VIBES
Ballybunion is delighted with the news that Summer Vibes Markets will be opening its gates on Saturday June 1st for the first time. This is a brand new market and is being held from 10.00am to 3.00pm on each Saturday until August 31st.
The location is McMunn’s gardens at the end of Main Street. There will be a huge variety of crafts and gifts available each week and with 25 vendors to choose from there will be something for everyone.
