KENMARE SHAMROCKS

ALL-IRELAND: Into the semi’s again and with an incredible score (what has happened to the Championship?) and either Monaghan or Tyrone await. Well done Stephen O’Brien, he took his goal superbly but it was the four first half points – when it was still a game – that caught the eye. Great to watch and his work rate out the field was high also. Well done. JUNIOR ALL-IRELAND; The Kerry Juniors more than likely play their All Ireland final in Croker Park next Saturday (the secrecy surrounding this game would make O’Donovan Fossa and The IRB proud). It will be a curtain-raiser to the Monaghan/Tyrone and Mayo v Donegal games. Good luck to Gavin and Brian Crowley, Tadhg Morley and Killian Spillane – all Templenoe – in that final. INTERMEDIATE HURLING: Our first round game is away to Causeway this coming Friday, 7th August. It’s a good trip but all support welcome and appreciated. LOTTO: There was no winner of Sunday evenings Lotto, held in O’Connor’s bar. The numbers drawn were 6, 7, 12, 27. Winners of €50 were Maurice Mandan and Arthur O’Sullivan. €25 voucher winners were Vincent O’Sullivan and Nicholas Kelleher. JUNIOR FOOTBALL LEAGUE SEMI FINAL; Junior Football League semi final Kenmare 0-7 Dr. Crokes 2-12 There were more than two goals between the teams at the end but the Crokes got the goals at crucial times, 12 minutes into them first half to give them a nice cushion and mid-way through the second half when we were doing our best to get back into the game, with Stephen O’Shea in particular driving hard from centre-back. Dean Cassidy nabbed a point from play and from a placed ball in the first half and Shane Tarmac, hard-working throughout, had a point on 10minutes with DJ Brennan scoring our last of the half. We would probably rue the chances that would have had us closer at the break, as it was we were 0-4 to 1-6 down a the break. Crokes notched two quick points on the resumption, DJ replied with a free before Aiden Crowley scored one of his

trademark points. Unfortunately Croker banged in their second goal two minutes later from a poorly struck free and the game petered out from there.
