Windows on the magic of Gaeilge
A GROUP of business people who celebrated Seachtain na Gaeilge by bedecking their shop front windows on an Irish-language theme were honoured for their efforts in a prize-winning ceremony in Tralee’s Meadowlands Hotel last week.
An Corcán and Scariff Meats in An Coireán ( Waterville), Comhar Chreidmheas Chorca Dhuibhne in An Daingean; Cloth Hall, Kay’s Children’s Shop and Betty McGrath’s florists, all in Listowel and The Irish Pub Shop and Joevany in Killarney were all awarded prizes for An Fhuinneog is Gaelaí.
And interest in the competition this year marked something of a revival. “The competition, which used to be a central part of Seachtain na Gaeilge in years gone by was a great success this year,” Roibeard Ó hEartáin said.
