It has been a busy few weeks for Kerry Hospice/Palliative Care Unit. We would just like to take this opportunity to thank all of you around the county who turned out on Good Friday and took part and donated to the many successful walks. It is hoped that we will surpass our total of over €50,000 last year as this year was up on previous years.
Listowel Branch had a very successful golf classic last week and a thank you to Tom Keane, who choose Kerry Hospice as one of his four charity’s to receive funds from the day.
A big crowd turned out to Ballybunion Golf course for a very successful event. Listowel Branch would like to thank the O’Connor Family and all who supported their walk which was in memory of Eammon O’Connor and it raised over €10,000.
In Tralee there has been many acts of huge generosity to the foundation. The Maurice Collins vintage group presented a cheque to both Kerry Hospice/ Palliative Care and Down syndrome Kerry for over €13,000 between the two charities.
Teresa Houlihan and the Greyhound Golf Society presented a cheque to Ted Moynihan last week.
Staff of the Revenue Commissioners Tralee present a cheque on Friday following funds they raised after have a cake and coffee morning recently. The generous staff of Vera Moda Tralee, who have donated money for the second time this year after doing a collection in the shop over the last few months.
In Killarney there was a big event on Friday to follow up on a coffee morning the group had earlier in the year. They held a golf classic along with a walk in Killarney Golf Course and it was all in memory of Sheila Mac Kelliher. A huge crowd was in attendance with many teams taken part. More to follow on this next week.
A huge thank you to all who organised these events and as always all those who support them in any way.
We have some events coming up such as A mid summer’s Ball on the nine th of June. Tickets on sale at the moment, as are tickets for a draw with prizes such as Rose Ball Tickets and signed Katie Taylor Gloves.

The work continues on the new building which is looking fantastic.it is hoped that it will be opened by the end of September.
As always we are hugely grateful for the Trojan work of all our volunteers around the county and hugely thankful to all of you the public who continue to support us.
A belated happy birthday to our chairman Ted Moynihan, who celebrated last week.
