Overview: 25 years since they last contested a County Final, St Brendans remain the only one of the existing divisional sides in the competition to ever have won the County Championship. There is a sense that progress could be made on that front this year however with some of their contributing clubs faring well in their own spheres. The manner of their win over Shannon Rangers will increase expectations of a decent run, but with how poor their opponents were on the night it’s one of those wins that should come with a health warning! Again if they are cohesive they can mount a charge and might be able to build something strong based on being together for the next two weekends. They look to be a lot more settled than the side that reached the 2013 Quar ter-Finals and with a County Minor title amongst some of their ranks, there is some promise there. The availability of the Kerry hurlers remains an ever present issue, but another win over the next two weekends would give them the oppor tunity to do something more concrete this year. Not in the bracket of contenders but cer tainly a side that might make strides towards something better in the future. With a potential Kerry starter in Jack Barry it might give everyone a bit more confidence about success.
