Our under-10 boys had a great evening in Fossa last Tuesday where they enjoyed playing some fantastic football in the glorious sunshine.

Special thanks to Fossa GAA for having the boys and to Garry, John and James for all their work. It was also very encouragin­g to see the many parents/guardians who travelled along to support the young boys.

Under-12s: Both of our under-12 boys were very unlucky against Fossa on Sunday evening last-despite some excellent scoring by the. The A team lost on a score line of 3: eight to two eight and the B’s lost 5: 13 to five nine. Well done to you all for a fine sporting effort and thanks to all your coaches for their commitment to training and games.

Athletics: It was a great day out at the Athletics Ireland National Indoor Juvenile Championsh­ips in Athlone at the weekend when Milltown boy Cian Spillane won Gold in the boys under-14 800 metres. Cian also won bronze in the team relay event.

College Students: We remember all our footballer­s who are currently sitting end of year exams. It can be a very stressful time so let’s give them all the support they need – a listening ear or a word of encouragem­ent. Presentati­on Secondary School Congratula­tions to Presentati­on Secondary School Milltown, who defeated Thurles CBS to claim the Corn Roibeard Ui Bhuachalla in the Munster under-16.5 C football final held in Rathkeale on Friday last. The final score was 4: 11 to nine pts. Milltown Castlemain­e players to line out on the day were Patrick O’Connor, Killian Kerins (jt Capt.) David Leane, Dylan O’Neill, Seán Hogan, John Dennehy and Martin Foley. Well done also to their Foireann Bainistioc­hta Mr Dan McKenna and Mr Kieran O’Sullivan on a fantastic achievemen­t.

Lotto jackpot Draw: Our lotto jackpot was not won on Friday last. These are the lucky consolatio­n prize winners. Mary Murphy, Knockreagh and John and Esther Cronin, Caragh Lake – €50 each. Helen Horgan, Eileen Bell, Kilderry South, Seán Ryan, Kilcolman and Mary Burke, Brackhill each received €25. Next draw is in Killorglin Golf Club on Friday, May 19, with the jackpot prize of €14,400. Sincere thanks to everybody for continuing to support our fundraisin­g lotto.

Good wishes: We wish our under-12 player – John Hogan a speedy recovery from his injury. We look forward to seeing you back playing real soon John.

Cycle Event: On Saturday, May 20, there will be a cycle event in aid of Kiltallagh National School. There is a choice of two routes – a 45km for the leisurely cyclist or a 90km for the more enthusiast­ic athlete. There will be food stations along the way and refreshmen­ts at the end – as well as children’s entertainm­ent.

This would be an ideal training session for the upcoming ROK.

Registrati­on is at Kiltallagh School from 8.30 a.m. with the event itself departing from the Community Centre in Castlemain­e at 10 a.m.
