Kerry minors to play Clare in Munster final

-

KERRY Minor footballers continued their winning streak when defeating Cork (2-17 to 1-10) in the Munster Minor Championship semi-final in Páirc Uí Rinn on Wednesday of last week to extend their unbeaten run to twenty game s stretching back to 2014. This was of course a winner takes all fixture and winning it means that Kerry will see action till at least the August weekend.

Manager Peter Keane had emphasised the importance of having the squad together for the Summer months when management could work on their fitness and skills unhindered by examinations or colleges fixtures.

Cork hit for a very early goal but the way Kerry recovered from that setback was a great sign of the maturity of the squad as they wiped that out that early deficit with ease and then began to build up a lead that saw them take a well deserved lead of seven points (2-9 to 1-5) to the half time break.

The Kingdom boys, superbly led by captain and chief talisman, David Clifford kept the scoreboard ticking over in second half and even had luxury of giving away a penalty which brought a tremendous save from young Dingle custodian Deividas Uosis. The same player had another fine save soon after and Kerry went on to record a very satisfying ten points victory.
