Ballydonoghue GAA launch night-at-dogs fundraiser
BALLYDONOGHUE GAA is calling on the support of all in its community and beyond as it embarks on a major development of facilities it will soon be fundraising for in a night at the dogs at the Kingdom Greyhound Stadium in Tralee.
A renovation of the existing building encompassing a range of great upgrades and at a cost of an estimated quarter of a million Euros is the principal focus of the racing night that’s taking place on July 15 next.
“We’re embarking on an exciting development of our clubhouse, renovating the existing building including new dressing rooms and showers, plus adding on a new all-purpose room and public toilets. The proposed development will cost approximately €250,000,” fundraising committee member Eugene O’Sullivan told The Kerryman.
He said the development is needed at a time of great success and activity for the club: “Over the past 20 years we have had tremendous success at under-age level and we are current senior North Kerry Champions. We have had players selected to represent Kerry at all levels and we have had tremendous success at Scór. The club facilities are used by other organisations, groups and schools in the parish.” The club is now appealing for the support of everyone from the parish in a race night requiring €1,000 sponsorship per race.
