Dr Crokes and Austin Stacks to contest Division 1 final

DIVISION 1

DR Crokes and Austin Stacks will contest the Minor League Division 1 final following last weekend’s semi-finals. In Dingle, Dr Crokes defeated the homeside by 2-16 to 1-14 and in Connolly Park, Austin Stacks defeated Firies by 0-9 to 1-5. A date for the finals has yet to be decided.

DIVISION 2 FINAL Listowel Emmets 3-9 Cordal/Scartaglin 1-11

IN a hectic finish in Kileen on Sunday evening, Listowel Emmets snatched the Division 2 title with a goal from Lorcan Moloney.

The winners had the better of the first half and goals from Devin McKenna and Eddie Brown helped them to a 2-7 to 0-5 half time lead. A penalty from Shay Walsh and a string of points saw Cord/Scart complete a fine comeback to take the lead with five minutes to go but Moloney’s late goal secured the title for Listowel.

Assistant Secretary of the County Committee Stephen O’Sullivan presented the winner’s shield to Emmets captain Ciaran Pierce while Kerry Minor Manager Peter Keane of Keanes Supervalu, Killorglin presented the Man of the Match award to Listowel’s Eddie Browne

DIVISION 3A FINAL An Ghaeltacht 3-13 Fossa 2-15

AN Ghaeltacht pipped Fossa by a single point in a free flowing game at Farranfore where Ruairí Ó Beaglaoich for Gaeltacht (2-7)and David Clifford for Fossa (2-10) gave exceptiona­l displays of marksmansh­ip right out of the top drawer.

A goal by captain Adam Mac Amhlaoibh helped the winners to a half time lead of 1-9 to 0-10 and after Ó Beaglaoich had his first goal soon after the break, David Clifford goaled for Fossa and the sides were level at the 40th minute.

Ó Beagaloich had his second goal at the three quarter stage, but again Clifford responded with a goal and the sides were level with five minutes to go before Ó Beaglaoich’s pointed free gave An Ghaeltacht victory.

County Board PRO John O’Leary presented the Shield to winning captain Adam Mac Amhlaoibh and Seamus Kerrisk of Keane’s Supervalu Killorglin presented the Man of the Match trophy to An Ghaeltacht’s Ruairí Ó Beaglaoich.

DIVISION 3B FINAL Kenmare 0-17 Gneeveguil­la 1-13 (AET)

IT took extra time before Kenmare edged out Gneeveguil­la at Glenflesk in the Division 3B Final.

Patrick Warren’s goal gave Gneeveguil­la a slender half time lead of 1-6 to 0-8 but the sides could not be separated in normal time when they finished 0-14 to 1-11. Kenmare outscored their opponents by three points to two in the extra-time period.

County Board Assistant Secretary Stephen O’Sullivan presented the Shield to winning captain Micheál McCarthy and Aidan O’Sullivan of Keanes Supervalu Killorglin presented the Man of the Match award to Kenmare’s Dylan O’Connor.

DIVISION 4 FINAL Finuge 4-15 Annascaul/Lispole 2-8

ANNASCAUL/LISPOLE proved too strong for Finuge at Ballymacel­ligott in the Division 4 final.

First half goals from Joe Kennedy, Killian Falvey and Robert O’Sullivan helped Annascaul/Lispole to a 3-6 to 0-4 half time lead and Rian O’Sullivan’s goal in the second half wrapped things up for the winners.

Christy Killeen of the County Committee presented the Division 4 Shield to winning captain Cathal Ferriter and Joe Sweeney, representi­ng sponsors Keanes Supervalu Killorglin, presented the Man of the Match trophy to Annascaul/Lispole’s Gearóid Lyne.

DIVISION 5 FINAL Glenbeigh-Glencar-Cromane 1-13 St Marys/Renard 1-13 (AET)

BOTH sides looked nervous in the slippery conditions in the Division 5 final in Glenbeigh and the score stood at 0-3 apiece at half-time.

However, the second half saw the pendulum swing in both directions with the visitors going three points clear and then the home side fighting back with a goal from Seán Tadhg Sheahan to take a four points lead with ten minutes to play.

Darragh O’Shea’s goal for the visitors saw the sides finish on 1-9 each at the end of the hour and extra-time could not separate two evenly matched teams who will have to do it all again at a later date.
