THE INEC in Killarney is celebrating a major step in its plan to upgrade its facilities after it successfully installed a fantastic new lighting rig, complete with a full range of fixtures, along with cabling and a lighting control desk in its venue.

The installation is part of what the INEC is calling a ‘significant production upgrade plan’ that saw the South Kerry venue team up with A.C Entertainment Technologies LTD (AC-ET) to install a number of fixtures on the lighting rig.

These fxtures include Pixiewash and Diamond19 RGBW LED wash lights, Luma1500 LED profiles, Ruby discharge beam lights along with ProLights StudioCOB FC full colour LED PARS and Solar IP65 LED wash lights, ETC Source Four profiles and ARRI True Blue Fresnels to round it all off.

In addition, AC-ET supplied the lighting control desk, an Avolites Arena, and DMX signal distributors. Power and DMX signal cabling was supplied by Tourflex® Cabling, AC-ET’s in house cable manufacturing service.

“I was delighted with the quality of the new ProLights lighting rig in the INEC Killarney. It has brought the venue to the forefront of the concert business in Ireland and stands up well against every other venue in the country and beyond,” said Steven Douglas of Coruscate Lighting Design.

“The support and rigging from the house crew and the provider of the new fixtures was also second to none and resulted in a great show for us and an easy day all around,”

“This was a very important project for us – the production teams in the INEC can now offer the highest quality in house lighting options to suit the highest level of corporate gala, right through to full on rock and roll,” said Mark Egan, Director of Corporate and Leisure Events at INEC.

“We now have the tools to take any incoming production to the next level. We’ll use the rig to light the many festivals, gigs and events running through the summer.”

“We have Insomnia Gaming Ireland, Ireland’s gaming convention; Ireland Bikefest; and the Ireland Folkfest featuring Lisa Hannigan, Femi Kuti and the Positive Force, Hothouse Flowers, Bollywood Masala Orchestra, Wallis Bird and lots more,” he finished.
