The Mayo based company is a family run business stretching back to 1904 and there is huge excitement over the new retail venture in a county that takes exploration of The Wild Atlantic Way and its glorious outdoors pretty serious.

“We are thrilled to be opening this new store and look forward to welcoming customers to Portwest Killarney,” said Rachel Davoren, General Manager of Portwest Retail. “We have received great support and encouragement from the local community. This new store is a great addition to our outdoor retail division and this expansion allows us to better serve customers along the Wild Atlantic Way,” Rachel added.

Speaking about the opening, Store Manager Sarah Clinton expressed her delight at being part of the Portwest team. “There has been great excitement getting the store set up and I’m looking forward to serving the Killarney community once again,” said Sarah.

The store will offer a wide range of products at the best value, catering for every outdoor enthusiast. It offers a full range of leisurewear for men, women and children, along with camping equipment, water sports and accessories. Portwest is also the ideal choice for customers seeking wearable everyday clothing or high performance outer wear. The new Killarney store will be open seven days a week.

Also present at the launch was local explorer Mike O’Shea. “I’m super amazed at the size of the store and that there’s a price point and gear to suit everyone. I’m delighted and honoured to open a store owned and operated by an Irish family,” he said.

The new store will stock the Portwest range and a number of international outdoor brands such as Helly Hansen, Montane, Typhoon, Regatta and Barts. Portwest are the only shop in Ireland to stock Italian brand Montura.
