Late equaliser sends hurling final to replay
ALL roads lead to Austin Stack Park again on this Sunday for the replay of the Garvey’s SuperValu County senior hurling championship final between Ballyduff and Lixnaw. Throw in time is 3pm.
In the drawn game last Sunday, a late point from a side-line cut by Shane Conway brought the sides level, Lixnaw 1-18 Ballyduff 2-15.
The winners go on to compete in the Munster Intermediate Hurling Championship on the weekend of November 5 against either Kanturk (Cork) or St. Mary’s, Clonmel (Tipperary).
Crotta O’Neills are County Minor Hurling champions
WELL done to the minor hurlers of Crotta O’Neill’s on winning the Keane’s SuperValu County Minor hurling championship title with a 1-14 to 1-13 win over Abbeydorney/Tralee Parnell’s in a tremendous final on Sunday last. This is their second title in arow.
Captain Darragh Behan, received Corn Seán Loibhéad from Hurling Officer Gerard McCarthy,, while full forward Barry Mahony won the Keanes Supervalu Man of the Match Award.
In the County minor hurling league Division 1B, Kilmoyley had a 1-16 to 2-12 win over Ballyheigue on Saturday.
Under-21 Hurling
CONGRATULATIONS to Shane Conway (Lixnaw) on being selected the Bord Gáis Under-21 ‘B’ Player of the Year for his performances during the Kerry Under-21 All-Ireland ‘B’ Championship campaign.
