The Kerryman (South Kerry Edition)
Human rights issue
SIR, The poem you published in your letters page on January 31 entitled ‘That I Might See The World’, composed by the late Garry Mac Mahon, covers beautifully the plight of the unborn child, much ignored in the current debate on Repeal of the Eighth Amendment of our Constitution.
It should be a spur to all who value human life to engage with the pro-life cause and not be intimidated by the powerful forces ranged against it. It is without doubt the most pressing human rights issue of our time and that is why we need to preserve the Eighth Amendment.
Sincerely, Patrick O’Neill, Mount Lyne, Killorglin.
