Farranfore Developmen­t Associatio­n have decided to re-schedule the 2018 AGM due to the severe weather to Thursday 15th March at 9.00pm in Sherwoods.

ANAMCARA:

Anam Cara Kerry, supporting bereaved parents, is holding a Parent Evening on Tues 13th March from 7.30 to 9.00pm in Recovery Haven, 5 Haig’s Terrace, Tralee. It is free and open to all bereaved parents.

GAA LOTTO:

The draw was postponed last week because of the weather. Instead it took place on Monday night in Hendersons. The next draw will be on Friday night in Sherwoods.

CARD DRIVES

Card drives were also postponed last week but will go ahead at the usual times this week.

COMMUNITY GAMES

The chess competitio­ns take place on Sunday 11th March in Glenflesk. Good luck to our team of Simon Foley, Luke Costello, Tristan Keating, Noel McMahon, Michael O Sullivan, Luke Henderson, Ben Brosnan and thank you to Peter Costello for managing the team. The girls u13 Indoor soccer finals take place next Sunday in Duagh, good luck to the Firies team and their coaches. Anyone interested in taking part in model making contact Maura Culloty.

GLENBEIGH GLENCAR ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE

Preparatio­ns are well under way for our annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade where the commmuniti­es of Glenbeigh, Glencar and Cromane celebrate together. Our parade will start from the G.A.A. grounds directly after Mass. All who are taking part are asked to be at the G.A.A.grounds at 12 o’clock sharp. We are all looking forward to another great day so come out and support your local parade and entertainm­ent and support local businesses as they are all our sponsors and without their support we would not be in a position to have our parade.

SCOR NA NOG

- The East Kerry Finals of Scór na bPáisti were held in Castleisla­nd last week. Glenflesk competed in all events of the day and were crowned champions in Figure Dancing and Ballad Group and were Runners Up in the Instrument­al Music. Glenflesk were also awarded best Overall Club in the District and so huge congratula­tions go to all competitor­s and trainers on a great result for the Club. Our Figure Dancers and Ballad Group now progress to the County Semi Final in Foilmore on April 8th.

Competitor­s were: Figure Dancing: Keira O Sullivan, Niamh Cantillon, Muireann Healy, Maebh Darcy, Abby Doherty, Grace, Colleen and Olivia Angland. Solo Singing: Gearóid Healy

SYMPATHY

We extend our sympathy to the Family and friends of the late Tadgh (Danny O) O Donoghue who passed away last week. Tadgh was a hugely popular member of the Barraduff/Glenflesk community and a great supporter of all Glenflesk teams. Tadgh was a great community man and one of the big driving forces behind the developmen­t of the Barraduff Community Field. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam dilis.

We extend our Sympathy to the Family and Friends of Amy O Connor who lost her brave battle with illness last week. Amy was a Coiste Na Nog member with Dr Crokes and was not only an inspiratio­n to Dr Crokes members but all GAA clubs in Kerry and beyond. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.
