KILLARNEY LEGION

-

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP RD.2: Killarney Legion 0-7 Rathmore 1-11

The main difference between these two sides was Rathmore’s ability to convert their scoring opportunities onto the scoreboard. The Legion were competitive enough in the first half conceding 8 pts.while registering 5 of their own but a tally of six missed chances was ultimately to prove costly.Allied to the fact that the Legion forwards found it difficult to break down a solid backline especially in the last quarter meant an uphill battle. The homeside started the second half brightly narrowing the deficit to a single point but Rathmore responded with three more minors before a long ball into the Legion goal mouth took a deflection and wound up in the net.It was just a matter of game management from there to the finish line and try as they might the Legion could not threaten the opposition goal.
