Join Waterville Tidy Towns for the County Cleanup on Saturday 16th April at 10.30am in the IRD Carpark. Collect refuse bags and gloves and help us to Clean up the whole area- highways and bye-ways. The more people that turn up the more we collect. Let’s break last year’s record of 80 bags. Thank you!

SCOR

Congratulations to Waterville Ballad group who have qualified for the Scor na bPaiste County Final having taken part in the Semi Final on Sunday in Glenbeigh. We wish Holly Galvin, Mary O’Connell, Joni Curran, India Duff and Lieve Duff all the best in the county final which will take place on 22nd April at 2pm in Foilmore.

WELL DONE

Congratulations and well done to Aoife Dwyer, daughter of Denis and Michelle who won the gold medal in the finals of the Kerry Community games cross country on Sunday last. We wish every good luck as she now goes forward to represent Kerry in the All Ireland final in May.

BIRTH

Congratulations to Angela, nee O’Shea and David Clifford, Breahig on the birth of their Baby Daughter Grace, a sister for Laura, Ella and Daniel. God Bless the new arrival.

GENERAL MEETING

A general meeting of Waterville Community Alert will take place on Monday 16th April in the Waterville Community centre at 8.30pm. An Garda Siochana will also be in attendance to advise on any matters of concern. All are welcome.

The Text Alert system which is run in partnership with An Garda Siochana is now due for renewal. This system has worked extremely well for our community and your continued support is greatly appreciated. New members who wish to join are most welcome and can do so by contacting Eugene Dennehy, Bunty Donnelly or Marion Dwyer.

Come along to an informal information morning about The European Route of Industrial Heritage, Waterville’s Transatlantic Cable Station and it’s impact on worldwide communications.
