1. LADIES NIGHT OUT IN AID OF CANCER CHARITY

A LADIES night out in aid of a vital cancer support service takes place this coming Friday night, April 13.

There are still a small number of tickets available to this event, which will start at 8pm on the night in the Faha Court Bar in Killarney;

2. COUNTY CLEAN UP TAKES PLACE THIS MONTH

THE biggest litter collection of the year, the ‘County Clean Up Day’ will take place later this month, on Saturday April 14.

With just a few weeks to go until the event itself, organisers want to let everyone know that there is still plenty of time for groups and inviduals to sign up and participate in the clean up on the day.

3. FUNDRAISING TEA DANCE IN GLENCAR

THERE will be a fundraising tea dance held in the Glencar Community Centre this coming SUnday April 15.

The event will run from 3pm to 6:30pm and will be in aid of the Kerry Cancer Support Group (Kerry/Cork Health Link Bus).

Admission on the night will cost just €5 and there will be plenty of spot prizes and refreshments as well.

4. ‘CHILDREN OF EDEN’ SET FOR SIAMSA

THE talented actors and singers of the Tralee MUsical Society will perform their latest show, ‘Children of Eden’ this week.

The colourful biblical tale will run in the Siamsa Tíre theatre from tonight, Wednesday April 11 to Saturday April 14; the show which is being directed by Aine Murray, Oliver Hurley and Laura Crowley, will run at 8pm nightly.

Tickets for the show will cost either €17 or €19 and are available to buy from Siamsa Tíre.

5. CHARITY COFFEE MORNING IN ‘HUNGRY ED’S’

A CHARITY coffee morning in aid of the Irish Cancer Society will be held in ‘Hungry Ed’s’ restaurant in Knocknagoshel this weekend.

The fundraising event will be held from 11am onwards in the restaurant and all are encouraged to attend on the day.

6. BALLYHEIGUE 6KM AND 10KM FUNDRAISING RUN

THE seventh annual fundraising 6km and 10km event takes place this coming Sunday, April 15.

Registration for the run will start at 10:30am from the Ballyheigue Community Centre; the event will cost only €5 or €10 and will be in the the Ballyheigue Family Resource Centre’s Counselling and Play Therapy services.

There will be prize giving and refeshments at the finish line in Sraid Thaidhg.

7. KENNY EGAN TO SPEAK IN LISTOWEL RESOURCE CENTRE

THE ‘Listowel Community Action on Alcohol Group’ will host an evening seminar entitled “Attitudes to Alcohol Consumption” at the Listowel Family Resource Centre on Wednesday April 11.

The event will run from 7pm to 9pm and keynote speakers on the night will include Kenny Egan and Minister Catherine Byrne.

8. CELLO AND VIOLIN CONCERT IN WATERVILLE

TALENTED musicans Gerald Peregrine and Elizabeth Cooney will perform one night of their 12 date tour of Ireland in Waterville this Friday night, April 13.

Gerald will perform on the cello while Elizabeth will perform on the violin; the pair of musicians will perform a masterworks for the violin/cello duo.

They will perform in the Tech Amergin Theatre in Waterville from 8pm onwards on the night, with booking available by calling 0669478956.

9. 25 YEARS OF TRALEE TOASTMASTERS

THE Tralee Toastmasters group will later this month celebrate their 25 year anniversary.

To celebrate this huge milestone, the public speaking group will hold an open event in the Kerins O’Rahillys GAA club on Saturday April 14; the night, which cost €20 to enter, will begin at 7:30pm and there will be finger food and speeches on the night.

10. GET EXERCISING THIS WEEKEND WITH PARKRUN

WHY not try to head down to take part in one of the many parkruns taking place around Kerry at the weekends?

There are four parkruns in Kerry: Tralee, Killarney, Listowel and the Tralee Junior parkrun.

These free 5km events are run every weekend by volunteers and they have been proven to be extremely popular in improving both physical and mental health.

The Tralee. Listowel and Killarney parkruns are held every Saturday morning from 9:30am onwards while the Tralee Junior parkrun takes place on Sunday at 9:30am - these 2km events are aged for children from 4-14 years old. People can register and print off their barcode at parkrun.ie.
