Biddy raises over €100k for KPFA in 12 years

A CHEQUE for over €7,000 was presented recently to the Kerry Parents and Friends organisation, thanks to proceeds raised from this year’s Biddy Festival.

It’s all down to the kind-hearted spirit of the people in the wider east and mid Kerry regions who celebrate Biddy’s Day on February 1 every year. Since its inception over 12 years ago, this annual fundraiser has raised over €100,000.

Paul Cremin is just one of many who help raise the money and he is keen to stress that so many people make it possible that a cheque is presented to Kerry Parents and Friends every year.

“We’re all delighted to be able to do it and there is a fantastic panel of 20 people. It’s a joint effort by everyone,” Paul said. “We are at this now for a few years and we’re proud of it. All the money goes directly to Kerry Parents and Friends as they lend us their bus for the event.

“It’s a wonderful organisation that helps so many people,” he added.
