Man tried to grab garda in patrol car
A KILLORGLIN man, who put his head in the window of a patrol car and tried to grab a garda, after the garda vehicle stopped to ask him his name and address, was convicted and fined €250 for resisting gardaí.
Killorglin District Court, held in Cahersiveen, heard that Aeneas Ferris of Gortnaskerry Killorglin was walking in the middle of the road on February 9, 2018 at Langford Street, Killorglin, when garda came upon him.
They stopped and asked his name and address and he started calling them names. He then put his hand in the window of the patrol car and tried to grab Garda Doyle.
He also threatened the gardaí with physical violence by putting his hands up for a fight.
The court heard that the 39-year old man had called to his brother-in-law’s house to speak to him and, as a result, gardaí had been called and he ‘overreacted’ as he is going through some family matters, the court heard.
