COUNSELLING FOR MAN WHO EXPOSED GENITALS

The Kerryman (South Kerry Edition) - - NEWS - By SINEAD KELLEHER

A 41-YEAR OLD male who exposed his genitals to two women in South Kerry on two occasions, within days of each other, is to attend counselling and liaise with the probation service before his court appearance in June.

The first victim, a 42-year old lady, was out cycling near the Red Fox Inn in Glenbeigh on May 24, 2017 at 7.30pm when Mr Walsh exposed himself to her.

On the second occasion, two days later, a 56-year old female was out walking on Rossbeigh Beach when she spotted a male in the distance and observed him exposing his genitals. When she walked past him she took photos of the vehicles parked nearby and she observed him getting into one of them which helped gardaí track the culprit down.

Patrick Walsh, with an address at Moanree, Newcastle West, Limerick, was charged with exposing his genitals with the intention to cause fear, distress or alarm on two occasions in May of last year.

The court heard that Mr Walsh is on a waiting list for a counsellor and a probation report is to be prepared ahead of the next court sitting.

He is currently unemployed but was a former bus driver.

Judge David Waters said that Mr Walsh must share details of his counsellor with the probation service so that they can liaise.

He also warned that if anything happened while Mr Walsh was on bail it would be treated very seriously.
