GOLD: 321 Down Syn­drome Kerry Char­ity Shop

A lo­cal suc­cess story, this project serves to make its com­mu­nity more au­tonomous and in­no­va­tive. It pro­vides op­por­tu­ni­ties for peo­ple to vol­un­teer and meet new peo­ple and to en­gage with mem­bers of the pub­lic. It also pro­vides an op­por­tu­nity for the pub­lic to en­gage with adults with Down Syn­drome in an in­clu­sive and friendly en­vi­ron­ment. Set­ting up a shop and book­shop has pro­vided work ex­pe­ri­ence to adults with Down Syn­drome while also rais­ing funds which are used to pro­vide vi­tal ser­vices in Kerry for chil­dren and adults with Down Syn­drome.
