Kildare up next for the Kerry Under 21 B hurlers

KERRY had a convincing 2-21 to 2-9 win over Down at Mullingar last Saturday in Round 1 of the All-Ireland Under 21 B Championsh­ip [Ritchie McElligott Cup]. They now go forward to meet Kildare in the quarter final this weekend.

County IHC

THE 2018 County Intermedia­te Hurling Championsh­ip commences on this Wednesday, July 11, 7.30pm with two preliminar­y round games - [A] Abbeydorne­y v Dr. Crokes; [B] Kilmoyley v Crotta O’Neill’s (this game will double up as a Co. League Div. 2 game).

The quarter final draw is: Winners [B] v Lixnaw; Lady’s Walk v Kilgarvan; Winners [A] v Kenmare – these games to go ahead on Wednesday, 18 July (first named at home in all games). The St. Brendan’s v Causeway game has been changed and will be played at Causeway on Friday, July 20.

County Senior League

THE semi-final of the Credit Union County Senior Hurling League Division 1 between Kilmoyley and Ballyduff is fixed for this Friday, July 13 at Kilmoyley at 7pm. The winners will play Causeway in the Final.

County MHL

ROUND 3 is scheduled for Monday next, July 16 at 7.30p.m. – Division 1A: Abbeydorne­y v Ballyheigu­e/ Causeway; Crotta O’Neill’s; v Kenmare/Kilgarvan. Division 2A: Ballyduff v Tralee Parnells; Lixnaw v St. Brendans. Kilmoyley bye.

Round 1 result: Abbeydorne­y 2 – 14 Kenmare/Kilgarvan 1 – 6. Round 2 re-fixture: Sunday, July 22, 3pm - Ballyheigu­e/Causeway v Kenmare/Kilgarvan,

Cúl Camps 2018

THE 2018 Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps for Hurling in Kerry continue on Monday next, July 16 at Ballyheigu­e and Kenmare until Friday, July 20.

Children may register on the first morning of each Camp. Following on successive weeks are: Abbeydorne­y & Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney (23 - 27 July); Causeway (30 July – 3 August); Crotta O’Neill’s – Dromakee (6 – 10 August) and Kilmoyley & Tralee Parnell’s - Caherslee (13 – 17 August).

The cost for 2018 remains at €60 per child with reductions for additional members of families. Open to primary school children, boys and girls between 6 and 13 years of age. Mondays to Fridays, 10am – 2.30pm daily. Further details at www.kelloggscu­lcamps. gaa.ie

COUNTY Under 16 Hurling Championsh­ip quarter final result: Abbeydorne­y 4 - 11 St. Brendan’s 1 - 16. The Plate quarter finals go ahead on this Friday, July 13 at 7pm - Tralee Parnell’s v Lixnaw at Caherslee; South Kerry v Kilmoyley at Rathmore.

The Cup semi-finals are fixed for Friday, July 27 - Ballyduff v Kenmare/Kilgarvan and Ballyheigu­e v Abbeydorne­y.

North Kerry

NORTH Kerry Under 14 B championsh­ip result: Crotta 4-16 to Kilmoyley 2-10. Ballyheigu­e and Ballyduff have qualified for the Under 14 A Championsh­ip Final. Check the North Kerry Hurling Board Facebook page for fixture details.

The North Kerry Under 13 ‘A’ and ‘B’ Championsh­ips will commence on Tuesday, July 24.

In the North Kerry Under 10 Blitz held on Saturday last at Ardfert, the Group 1 winners were Ballyduff with St Brendans winning Group 2. Well done to the clubs who took part - St Brendans, Ballyduff, Ballyheigu­e, Lixnaw, Tralee Parnell’s, Kilmoyley, Abbeydorne­y and Crotta.

Thanks to the competitio­n co-ordinator, Frank O’Connor, and all in the St Brendans Minor Club for running the blitz so efficientl­y and to all the players, mentors, parents and guardians who all played their part.

The next Under 10 Blitz will be hosted by Tralee Parnell’s at Caherslee on Saturday, September 8.
